I am on the look out for a new rotor, the one I have has a small amount of backlash on the wood rough  key, the wood rough key is in good condition, is this normal ??

Would be easier to make a key to suite the wear as the rota assays are hard to find

Loctite round the Woodruff key when it's assembled should sort it out.

I've had some bad 'uns over the years and, if the nut doesn't loosen off, it will be fine.

Hi All
It is usually possible to broach another keyway in the rotor, a decent machine shop or a beardy man in a shed will be able to do it ???
Another permanent "fix" I have used on Triumphs where the crank only goes halfway into the rotor
is to machine countersinks either side of the rotor then make up two cone shape washers that are a tight fit on the crank and sleeve nut and sanwich the rotor between the cones  8)
