BSA C12 Points Holding Pin
« on: February 28, 2016, 05:41:21 PM »
I was wondering how the points stay on the locating pin which holds them. Mine does not seem to have a nut or a lock washer on the end. After i have started the bike up, i notice the points sliding along the pin which results in bad running. When pushed on fully the end of the pin is flush with the body of the points. Is this correct or has someone before me snapped a nut off. Gaz

No nut required there. The spring bit that goes to the wire connection (where there is a nut etc) has probably got twisted; giving a bias to lift the points. Twist it back the other way.
