Hi All,
From memory the rectifier bolts to the bracket that the ignition switch mounts to
The bump on the side panel is for clearance??? (Don't low how reliable my memory is ::) )
Best plan is to get a modern replacement

John

You could well be right, but it begs the question of what the bracket on the frame tube is for. Ian blame one of the three POs; all site members.

This came up a few years ago but I can't find the thread through the search thingy.

My 1957 C12 has the coil fastened to the back of the toolbox ( lead pointing upwards ) so unlike HB's. Whether BSA changed the position depending on year I don't know. What year is your C12 HB ?

Hi,
after having disassembled my 1957 C12 some 26 years ago I not sure, where the following items are mounted to on the bike.
Coil - currently I've mounted the coil to the back of the tool box with lead pointing upwards.
Rectifier - no idea where this should be mounted to on bike

How is the coil lead routed to cylinder head? Below the frame?

Yes Graham, Electrickery at it's best. Electrex world makes all the difference, reliable, 12v and battery charging, direct lighting if required but the battery charging is plenty to keep LED's glowing for hours. Plus the new bulbs do dip . Fine for the sort of speed we are likely to do on a clonker....    ::)   Griff
