Replica battery case
« on: September 04, 2019, 07:13:54 am »
Hi all!

My original C11 battery was dead and I had to use a modern battery inside a replica case. Unfortunately, the replica is out of a relatively soft material (rubber?) and, hence, doesn’t look too nice when replaced. Recently, I cleared out the original battery by scraping out the tar and pulling out the inside of the cells. This “replica” out of an original battery matches much more the ‘period’ than the modern replica case. So, if you still have an old battery don’t throw it away but re-use it.

Cheers, Thomas

Well, Germans are so rich that they fill the boxes with gold...  ::)

So, I invented it again and can charge those who will do it now after my tip.  :P My original battery was waiting in my workshop. Perhaps some still exist in other places.

Most of the advice that I read on here, and other places, I and many others already knew years ago, Ian.

However, these tips and advice are aimed at the folk who didn't already know so are quite helpful to the late-starters and shouldn't be discouraged.

You don't have to travel far to realize nobody is really "hard up" in this country...although there are plenty who think they are"hard done by" ::)
