alternator studs

Hi Guys,
My C12 project is nearing completion.
Now onto the alternator studs. None came with the engine but on inspection of the crankcase (Marked C11G) I was surprised to see that the tapped holes for the studs are 1/4 B.S.W. when
I would have expected 5/16. Is 1/4 B.S.W. the correct size?
A can turn up the studs but does anyone have a sketch and/or lengths?

Hi there,
Yes I am almost at that stage and yes the studs are 1/4 on mine also, I was thinking of using threaded rod and spacer's.

Thanks for your reply Donald. It is re-assuring to know that the crankcase threads are correct.
I will now carry out some measuring and machine-up the studs.
