1955 C11G spark problem
« on: January 12, 2019, 12:02:13 pm »
Hello to all, wonder if anyone can give me some advice,my restoration is coming on great, about a couple of month ago I fitted a wiring loom and the bike started ran fine all lights etc worked great.Couple of days ago bike will not spark when switch is on ignition but does in emergency position all lights etc still work.It has also developed an oil leak which is coming from behind the primary chain case where the alternator is.Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks Gordon

It's probably a wire off the ignition switch, Gordon, so you need to check if the volts are coming out of the switch and then if the power is getting down to the coil. Just a methodical process of elimination!

The oil leak is most likely just the breather because it's wet-sumped from standing around unused. Drain the excess out of the sump and tip it back in the tank.
