The generator chain on a C11 1953,do they require any form of lubrication,grease ,oil or are they lubricated by the engine oil system
When i take off the cover ,no oil drops out and the chain apears dry
May be on a long run the oil may get in there?

On both my 53 C10 and C11 there are groves in the camshaft bush on the inner timing cover, this allows oil to get to the dynamo drive, it may take a few miles for the oil to get through. On mine i get about 1/4" of oil sitting in this area lubricating the chain and sprockets.
