Hi,

I am reassembling my C12 and I have a problem with the rocker oil feed. Indeed no oil at all arrived at the end of the pipe wich connect to the rocker cover while oil arrived well at the exit of the return pipe in the oil tank.
I tried to block the oil return with my thumb in the oil tank, so the oil was flowing very well at the end of the rocker feed pipe.
I tried to let the engine running a few minutes with the oil pipe connected on the rocker and my finger on the return pipe in the oil tank. Then I took off the feed pipe from the rocker cover and notice that oil was finaly flowing from the rocker feed pipe but only about one drop per second.

Does someone have an explanation for all of this ? Does the flow seem sufficient to you ?

Can you post pictures of the oil tank connections and the oil feed rocker assembly ?
Check the oil feed rocker cover bolt has the slot on the side to allow the oil to flow to the trunion?

Many don't have an oil feed to the rockers, a few drops is quite adequate. I wouldn't worry about it too much.

remember this is not a pressure feed - just a take off from the return line with nothing to 'force' the oil into it. It's just a dribble at best. I sometimes do as you did and block off the return in the tank for a few seconds just to give it a 'push' but I suspect it's more to ease my mind than for any real need

The fitting at the tank side act as a slight restriction and I mean slight restriction to get a small amount of oil up top.

Hi Owen. The problem isn't near the rocker assembly, oil doesn't even get that far. Tank connection on my C12 is exactly the same as your.

I posted a video of the oil flow, which is probably sufficient depending on what you all tell me :

That's fine, Fred, - as has been said, most Cs don't have it fitted and, in my opinion, it's not needed.

That's plenty of oil for the rockers as it goes into the channel in the trunion and then to the rockers. It's not like a modern force fed system.
